So...I know this post is a little overdue, but just HAD to share pics of what's become our family tradition (for the past 3 years) of ringing in the New Year with family and friends in Danbury, TX.
The Lodge at Danbury is a gorgeous getaway retreat that our church(Sagemont)owns, located only an hour away from the church! Typically it's used for marriage retreats, ladies prayer retreats, mens fishing competitions, etc. and mostly by other churches. But, you can also just rent a room for you and your family for $40 a night and make a great little relaxing vacation out of it! It has SO much to do, including fishing, paddle boating, a huge kitchen and eating/playing games hall, a beautiful lodge area where brides who love the simple, rustic/antique look can get married(or it houses all the sleeping bag kids who don't want to sleep in their parents rooms!), a fire pit that is to die for, lots of room for fireworks, beautifully decorated rooms to stay in(not your typical run of the mill hotel), and so much more! Our kids have a blast at Danbury and are always so sad to leave. Believe it or not, they don't miss the TV one bit while they're there....there's so much to do and they run WILD! Oh, it's SO much fun! I wish you all could come with us sometime!!! If you are ever interested, let us know! There's always room for a few more!
