Haha! My sister and I had one when we were kids. We loved it. Up and down over and over again until we fell off and got back and tried it again...
Well, we feel like we're on one now. Boingy....boingy...boingy...boingy! hahaha!
Got a call from our agency this past week and they needed to meet with us about a birth mom. Usually, our social worker can tell us about the birth mom who has chosen us over the phone and then let us know as things progress. The last three birth moms have not progressed and have ended up in three different directions. We are learning that in adoption, this is the norm.
Anyways, our agency has waited until the last 3 weeks of a particular birth mom's pregnancy to let us know that she has chosen us. Why? Well, because social workers are in tune with RED FLAGS. Red flags that sometimes cause a birth mom to change her mind. Red flags that say they THINK this birth mom is seriously going thru with placing her baby, but there are some things to consider.
So, face to face, our social worker talked about those "things" that we needed to consider. Chuck and I both felt like this is a situation that we would want to take a risk on. So, we said YES. Saying YES this time, though, meant taking our profile off of the birth mom "look at" list. That means the next three weeks, if any birth mom comes in wanting to view waiting families...we won't be shown. And we're ok with that.
And for the last couple of nights, I've been reading everything I can about something a little different than the other three situations we've been in...
little
black
baby
girl
hair
and
skin
Melt my heart...oh and Chuck's, too.
The kids never really get too much into any of it at this stage...but I think that once God has the child He wants in our home, their hearts will melt too.
We'll see what happens. And like we've learned...things can change in the blink of an eye. God's in control. And I know He's already picked our baby. Boy or Girl. Red and yellow, black and white...they are precious in His sight....Jesus loves the little children of the world. Can't wait to see which of His little loves he gives to us.
And if I forget to say it...I don't forget to think it. Thank you for all the encouragement throughout all of this thus far. Facebook, blog, email, texts, calls, face-to-face, and prayers. They don't go unnoticed and thinking about your thoughtfulness does cause random tear flowage as I'm driving, running, or other weird places. Hahaha! I can't help it.

Oh Misty! This is exciting news! I just have a vision of your beautiful little baby girl! Tears fill my eyes as I write this comment. I am blessed abundantly not only to know you but, to be your friend! This is only a glimpse into the future and what God has for You, Chuck, Madi and Mason is far above anything that we can fathom. When God arranges for you to meet your child...no matter what race he or she might be...That will be his perfect timing. Oh what an amazing life this child will have and I cannot wait to be a part of it. Brent and I remain prayerful and we know that Gods plan is soon to be revealed. Cannot wait!!
