Pre-Thanksgiving thoughts...

It's late, I know I should be asleep because we're getting up EARLY in the morning to run the Turkey Trot in Houston-Galleria area and then to our yearly tradition of watching the Thanksgiving Day Parade in Downtown. Lana, JP, and I are running the 10K and Chuck, Maddi and Mason are running the 5K(I'll post pictures tomorrow hopefully!)!!! But, anyways, I was just lying in bed(everyone else is dead-asleep!) and thinking about Thanksgiving and our family and our extended-family little boy...Kyalo. He lives in Kenya and we sponsor him through Compassion International. Chuck picked him out at church about 6 months ago and we feel like he's partly ours. He sends us letters and pictures and he LOVES Jesus and is being taught all about Him. His letters make us cry at the thankfulness he writes about and his sweet love for God. He'll be 5 in a few months. We don't worry about his salvation so much as we do his physical needs. He lives in a very poor town and in an HIV/AIDS affected area. I know he's on my mind and heart right now for a reason. For those who read our blog, say a prayer for Kyalo and his family when you can. We have so much to be thankful for! Happy Thanksgiving!
